President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Bagheri.

The First Deputy Minister of Defense – Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Colonel General Najmeddin Sadikov took part in the meeting of the Military Committee of the North Atlantic Alliance within the format of "Resolute Support" that was held at the level of Chiefs of Staff at NATO Headquarters in Brussels (Kingdom of Belgium).

As part of the NATO's Defense Education Enhancement Program (DEEP) to assist the development of specific areas of the military education system, a working meeting with the experts group of the Alliance is held at the War College of the Armed Forces.

On January 15, training-methodological sessions following the results achieved in 2018 were held with the participation of military personnel of the Main Medical Department of the Ministry of Defense, commanders (chiefs) of medical, military units and institutions, chiefs of medical services of Army Corps and formations.

The ceasefire monitoring exercise on the Line of Contact, in the territory of Terter region, held in accordance with the mandate of Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office on January 15, ended with no incident.

The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan Colonel General Zakir Hasanov has sent letters of condolences to Lieutenant General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Major General Amir Khatami, Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

On 15 January 2019, the Office of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in accordance with its mandate plans to conduct the next ceasefire monitoring exercise on the LOC, in the territory of Terter region.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has chaired the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers dedicated to the results of socioeconomic development of 2018 and objectives for the future.

According to the combat training plan for 2019, approved by the Minister of Defense Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, methodological training sessions were conducted with the staff of the Personnel Bodies of the Army Corpses, formations, military units, and special military-educational institutions.
