LIEUTENANT GENERAL
TAHIROV RAMIZ FIRUDIN OGLU
DEPUTY MINISTER OF DEFENSE –
COMMANDER OF THE AIR FORCE
Lieutenant General Tahirov Ramiz Firudin oglu was born in Vladikavkaz city of the Russian Federation on 16 April 1966.
He graduated from the Military Lyceum named after Jamshid Nakchivanski in 1983, from the Kiev Higher Anti-Aircraft and Rocket Engineering School in 1988 and from the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2006 with honours.
From 1988 to 1992 he served in the Armed Forces of the USSR at the Academy of Air Defense of Land Forces named after Marshal of the Soviet Union A.M.Vasilevsky and in the military representation of the USSR.
In 1992-2002, he served in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
In 2002-2013, he worked as Deputy Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for defense issues.
He was engaged in combat operations for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
He has received numerous awards and medals for commendable fulfillment of duties. He has been awarded with the Medal “For Motherland” by Presidential Decree dated 24.06.2005, the Medal for Distinguished Military Service by Presidential Decree dated 21.06.2007, Order “For service to the Fatherland” of 3rd Degree by Presidential Decree dated 24.06.2015, the Medal for Distinguished Military Service by Presidential Decree dated 19.04.2016, the Medal “For Motherland” by Presidential Decree dated 25.06.2018 and the “Zafar” Order by Presidential Decree dated 09.12.2020.
He has been appointed as Deputy Minister of Defense – Commander of the Air Force by Presidential Decree dated 14.05.2014.
He is married and has two children.
