ISLAMZADE NAMIG SARAFRUZ OGLU
DEPUTY MINISTER OF DEFENSE – COMMANDER OF THE AIR FORCE
Lieutenant General Islamzade Namig Sarafruz oglu was born in Barda region on May 7, 1974.
After graduating from the Military Lyceum named after Jamshid Nakhchivanski in 1991, he studied at the Turkish Military Aviation School until 1996.
In 2011-2013, he studied at the War College of the Azerbaijan Armed Forces.
From 1996, he served in the Azerbaijan Air Force in various positions such as pilot, senior pilot, commander of the aviation squad, deputy squadron commander, squadron commander, air base commander.
During the years of 2019-2024, he served as the Deputy Commander of the Air Force.
He participated in military operations for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
He has repeatedly been awarded with various awards, orders and medals for the proper performance of his service duties.
He has been awarded with the Medal "For Military Services" by the Decree dated 24.06.2005, "Azerbaijan Flag" Order by the Decree dated 25.06.2008, Medal "For the Motherland" by the Decree dated 25.06.2020, Medal "Hero of the Patriotic War" dated 09.12.2020, Medal "For the liberation of Fuzuli" by the Decree dated 25.12.2020, Medal "For the liberation of Khojavand" by the Decree dated 25.12.2020, Jubilee Medal “100th Anniversary of Heydar Aliyev (1923-2023) by the Decree dated 02.02.2024 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
He was appointed to the position of Deputy Minister of Defense – Commander of the Air Force by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 23.09.2024.
He is married and has three children.
