On September 16, Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, attended the official opening ceremony of the 13th Beijing Xiangshan Forum, held under the theme “Build Consensus on Stability and Advance Security Governance Together”.

Azerbaijan Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, who is currently on a working visit to the People's Republic of China to attend the 13th Beijing Xiangshan Forum, met with Minister of Defense of Belarus, Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin.During the meeting, the Ministers discussed prospects for the development of military, military-technical cooperation between Azerbaijan and Belarus, and other issues of common interest.

Event commemorating the 108th anniversary of the liberation of Baku from Bolshevik-Dashnak formations on 15 September 1918 was held at the Azerbaijan Military History Museum.

Solemn oath-taking ceremony was held for newly enrolled cadets at the Heydar Aliyev Military Institute under the National Defense University.

Military Institute named after Heydar Aliyev hosted the Fourth Phase of the Teacher Professional Development Course held within the Defence Education Enhancement Programme (DEEP) for the academic and teaching staff of special educational institutions of the National Defense University (NDU).

In accordance with the bilateral military cooperation plan signed between the Ministries of Defense of Azerbaijan and Bulgaria for 2026, a working meeting was held to discuss the exchange of practices concerning the cultural and social affairs of military personnel, as well as the mutual and effective use of holiday, leave, and recreational facilities.

In accordance with the training plan approved by the Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, the Azerbaijan Army holds events regarding the start of the new training period in its types of troops, army corps, formations, military units and special educational institutions.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva visited the Azerbaijani Navy.
