On January 5, from 22:00 to 22:10, the Armenian armed forces units from positions located in the directions of Digh and Khanazakh settlements of the Gorus region using small arms periodically subjected to fire the Azerbaijan Army positions stationed in the directions of Zabukh and Jaghazur settlements of the Lachin region.

In accordance with the plan approved by the Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, a series of events on the occasion of 31 December – Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis and New Year were held in all types of troops, Combined Arms Army, army corps, formations and special educational institutions within the Azerbaijan Army.

On December 30, the leadership of the Defense Ministry conducted a visit to the Main Clinical Hospital.The visit commenced with a solemn ceremony during which the Ministry's leadership laid flowers at the monument to the National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the territory of the hospital, and paid tribute to his memory.The Minister of Defense Colonel General Zakir Hasanov met with the medical staff of the hospital and military personnel receiving treatment.

To enhance the professionalism of psychologists serving in the Azerbaijan Army, a training session on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) was conducted in the lecture hall of the Baku Military College operating under the National Defense University.

Baku Military College hosted a seminar attended by the representatives of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ombudsman's Office, the Ministries of Defense, Labor and Social Protection of the Population, Science and Education, Health, Youth and Sports, Culture, the Military Prosecutor's Office, the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription, and the branches for Organization of work with the participants of the Patriotic War and families of Martyrs of the Baku City and District Executive Authorities.

Seminar on Combating Corruption was organized in the lecture hall of the Baku Military College operating under the National Defense University.

The process of providing permanent housing to servicemen (including active-duty personnel, discharged servicemen, or their heirs) who have demonstrated exemplary military service for 20 or more years continues in alignment with the implementation of the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Measures to Strengthen the Social Protection of Servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan", dated December 28, 2011.
