President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev held an expanded meeting with Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad.Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said at the meeting:- My very dear brother, President Aliyev and honorable members of your delegation.

As part of the programme “For life without thalassemia” initiated by the First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva, a voluntary blood donation campaign was organized in one of the military units of the Air Force.

Under the training plan and program for 2024, practical classes are held in the field with the cadets of the Baku Military College under the National Defense University.

The following tasks were successfully accomplished at the preparatory stage of the “Birlestik-2024” operational-tactical command-staff exercise.

“Birlestik-2024” operational-tactical command-staff exercise will be held from July 11 on Oymasha training ground and Cape Tokmak in the Caspian Sea aquatorium of Kazakhstan under the joint plan signed between the Defense Ministries of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

On July 8, the graduation ceremony of the next Officer Development Course was held at the Training and Educational Center of the Azerbaijan Army.

Under the training plan for the current year, tactical-special exercise is carried out with the personnel of various types of troops of the Azerbaijan Army to evaluate the capabilities and abilities of combat support means, organize interoperability and improve joint activities in arduous terrain conditions.Defense Ministry's leadership visited the control points of the troops to watch the course of the exercise.

As an honorary guest, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov participated in the solemn ceremony dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus and the Independence Day.

On July 2, the First Deputy Minister of Defense – Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, Colonel General Karim Valiyev met with the Deputy Chief of Staff Support of NATO Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum, Major General Stefan Fix, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan.
