On April 6, starting from 18:30 to 22:05, Armenian armed forces units from the positions located in the directions of Jil, Gunashli, and Khoznavar settlements of Chambarak, Basarkechar and Gorus regions using small arms of various calibers a total of 16 times periodically subjected to fire the Azerbaijan Army positions stationed in the directions of Ayrivang, Jamilli, and Hajilar settlements of Gadabay, Kalbajar, and Lachin regions.

The heads of the State Agency for Preschool and General Education under the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Baku City Education Department, as well as a group of subordinate schools’ principals, visited the Military Lyceum named after Jamshid Nakhchivanski of the National Defense University.

On April 5, starting from 21:55 to 23:20, Armenian armed forces units from the positions located in the directions of Musurskend settlement of Tovuzgala region, Ashaghi Shorzha, Yukhari Shorzha, Gunashli settlements of Basarkechar region and Aravus settlement of Gorus region using small arms of various calibers periodically subjected to fire the Azerbaijan Army positions stationed in the directions of Alibayli settlement of Tovuz region, Khoshbulag settlement of Dashkasan region, Yellija and Zaylik settlements of the Kalbajar region and Chaghazur settlement of Lachin region.

On April 5, starting from 15:10 to 17:35, the Armenian armed forces units in order to create basis for next provocations attempted to conduct work for the purpose of engineering improvement of a trench in front of the Azerbaijan Army positions stationed in the direction of Hajali, Aghbulag, Aghdam, Garalar, Kohna Gishlag settlements of Tovuz region and Galakend settlement of Gadabay region.

Combined Arms Army conducts the next command-staff exercise.

During the inspection of the territory in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, a minefield was detected at the cemetery in the Aghdaban village of the Kalbajar region.

According to the training plan approved by the Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov for 2024, final meetings on the results of the first quarter were held in the military units.

Under the instruction of the Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, a number of events on the occasion of 8th anniversary of the Victory in the April battles in 2016 were held in types of troops, Army Corps and formations, as well as in special educational institutions of the Azerbaijan Army.

First Deputy Minister of Defense – Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, Colonel General Karim Valiyev took part in the next meeting of the Committee of Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) member states held in Moscow.
