Implementation of international arms control activities

The Republic of Azerbaijan is a party to the "Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe" (CFE) and the "Vienna Document on Security and Confidence-Building Measures" (VD) of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe and fulfils various obligations.  For this purpose, due to the "VD" the Republic of Azerbaijan participates in the annual exchange of information about its armed forces and based on the provided information receives inspections from the participating states, as well as can conduct inspections in other participating states.
There are 140 inspections were conducted through "CFE" by the participating states in the Republic of Azerbaijan until January 1, 2025.
The Republic of Azerbaijan joined to the "VD" at the meeting of the Organization of the Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) - former Council for Security and Cooperation in Europe (CSCE) on March 4, 1992 in Vienna.
According to the Security Council's decision FSC.DEC/14/11 “VD” was re-adopted by the Republic of Azerbaijan at the 665th special meeting of the OSCE Security Cooperation Forum (FSC), on November 30, 2011, in Vienna.
There are 79 inspections and 36 evaluations were conducted by the participating states in the Republic of Azerbaijan until January 1, 2025.
