According to the instructions of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, Minister of Defense Colonel General Zakir Hasanov and the leadership of the Ministry, who are currently in the frontline zone, have met with soldiers in another military unit, and also took part in the opening of new headquarters and military equipment storage facilities.

According to the instructions of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, Minister of Defense Colonel General Zakir Hasanov and the leadership of the Ministry have met with soldiers who are on combat duty at the forward positions on the line of confrontation.

On December 25 in the afternoon, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of the armed forces of Armenia attempting to carry out reconnaissance flights over the positions of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan in the Aghdam direction of the front was destroyed.

According to the combat training plan for 2017, approved by the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, contests for various specialties were held at training ranges and training centers to determine the best commanders of the battalion, division, and equal units.

An annual meeting of foreign defence attachés accredited to the Republic of Azerbaijan took place on 19 December 2016 in accordance with the plan approved by Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan Colonel General Zakir Hasanov has met with the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk on December 19.

According to the plan approved by the Minister of Defense Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, Open Doors Day will be held for parents and relatives of the soldiers in all military units on December 30 at 11.00, on the occasion of the World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day and New Year.

On December 16, the extended session of the Defence Ministry Board on the results of preparation of troops in 2017 was held under the leadership of the Minister of Defence, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov with participation of the members of the Board.

Minister of Defense Colonel General Zakir Hasanov and the leadership of the ministry took part in the opening of the newly built command post of the tactical training camp.

Trainings with the participation of the command staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan were conducted.
