The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, arrived on a visit to Türkiye on December 20 to participate in the trilateral meeting of the Defense Ministers of Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Georgia.

According to the training plan for the current year, the Training and Educational Center of the Azerbaijan Army hosts training-methodological sessions with the chiefs of branches and subdivisions for ideological work and moral-psychological support of types of troops, Army Corps, formations, units, and special educational institutions (chairs and cycles, respectively), assistant chiefs of staff of military units for ideological work and moral-psychological support and psychologists.

In accordance with the combat training plan for 2022, training-methodological sessions are being held in the Azerbaijan Army with the participation of deputy commanders of the Army Corps, formations, military units, and artillery chiefs.

In accordance with the bilateral military cooperation program between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Türkiye for 2022, the 13th staff talks between representatives of both countries’ Air Forces were held.

In order to protect military personnel from seasonal diseases during the winter period, enlightenment events were held in the Azerbaijan Army.

Engineering work continues in the territories liberated as a result of the victory in the Patriotic War, gained by the Azerbaijan Army under the command of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr.

On December 16, at 23:35, the Armenian armed forces units from the positions in the direction of the Yukhari Shorzha settlement of the Basarkechar region using small arms subjected to fire the Azerbaijan Army positions stationed in the direction of the Zaylik settlement of the Kalbajar region.

The First Deputy Minister of Defense – Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, Colonel General Karim Valiyev visited the Commando Brigades and other military units to conduct a sudden inspection of the units’ combat training.

On December 16, starting from 17:20 to 18:15, the Armenian armed forces units from the positions in the directions of the Goturbulag settlement of the Chambarak region and Yukhari Shorzha settlement of the Basarkechar region using various caliber weapons periodically subjected to fire the Azerbaijan Army positions stationed in the directions of the Goyalli settlement of the Gadabay region and Zaylik settlement of the Kalbajar region.

As a result of the activities carried out in the liberated territories by the Azerbaijan Army’s engineer-sapper units, up to 15620 hectares of the area have been completely cleared of mines and unexploded ordnance throughout the current year.
