The ceasefire monitoring exercise on the Line of Contact, near the village Saryjaly (Aghdam region), held in accordance with the mandate of Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office on January 16, ended with no incident.

On 16 January 2018, the Office of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in accordance with its mandate plans to conduct the next ceasefire monitoring exercise on the LOC, near the village Saryjaly (Aghdam region).

According to the combat training plan approved by the Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, methodological training was conducted for the Personnel Bodies of the formations, military units, and specialized military educational institutions.

The speech of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers chaired by the head of state dedicated to the results of social and economic development in 2017 and the tasks ahead has been met by the military personnel of the Azerbaijan Army with great interest and it served to enhance his patriotic spirit.

According to the combat training plan approved by the Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, test exams are conducted to assign (confirm) grades to officers, ensigns, and enlisted servicemen.

In accordance with the "Action Plan in connection with the 28th anniversary of the 20 January tragedy" approved by the order of the head of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Ramiz Mehdiyev, Minister of Defense Colonel General Zakir Hasanov gave instructions to hold events in the Azerbaijan Army.

According to the plan of combat training approved by the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, three-day methodological training was held with the participation of the deputy commanders of formations, military units and special military educational institutions and psychologists who work with military personnel.

A group of 70 Azerbaijani military personnel was sent to Afghanistan on January 9 in accordance with the plan and rotation for serving within NATO-led Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan.

On January 8, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov held a meeting with the staff involved in educational and methodological training sessions conducted with officers on work with personnel and psychologists at the Educational-Training Center of the Armed Forces.
