According to the instruction of the Minister of Defense, a group of officers of the ministry led by the Deputy Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Kerim Veliyev visited the grave of the National Hero of Azerbaijan Albert Agarunov in the Alley of Martyrs on May 8.

On May 9, the Ministry of Defense’s enlarged delegation led by the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov will depart for Izmir to participate in the Distinguished Visitors Day, which will be organized during the final stage of the "Efes-2018" international exercise in the Republic of Turkey.

On the occasion of the 95th birthday anniversary of national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, several activities are held in the Army Corps, formations, military units, special military educational institutions of the Ministry of Defense, as well as the in the central and garrison houses of officers.

In connection with the celebration of the 73rd anniversary of the Victory over fascism, military bands will organize performances in various parts of Baku from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on May 9.

Representatives of the Azerbaijani Army participate in the "Climbing Initial Training Course" in Predeal (Romania), in the Combined Training Conference (CTC 18-1) in Oberammergau, (Germany), in the "Emergency Management of Battlefield Injuries Course" in Budapest (Hungary), in the 5th planning meeting of the "REGEX 18" exercises in Belgrade (Serbia), in Partner National Military Representative (PNMR) Seminar in Stavanger (Norway) and in the "NATO Medical Evaluation (MEDEVAL) Course" in Tartu, Estonia.

A scientific-practical conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the creation of the Armed Forces was held at the Military Medical Faculty.

The ceasefire monitoring exercise on the Line of Contact, in the territory of Terter region, held in accordance with the mandate of Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office on May 3, ended with no incident.

On 3 May 2018, the Office of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in accordance with its mandate plans to conduct the next ceasefire monitoring exercise on the LOC, in the territory of Terter region.

According to the approved decree №755 of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 17 August 2002, prior to 1 May 2018, the Armed Forces Relief Fund's AZN account amounted to 90.425.728,04 Manats, dollar account amounted to 213.577,88 USD, the euro account amounted to 11036,0 Euros and the ruble account amounted to 5000,0 rubles.
