The Minister of Defense Colonel General Zakir Hasanov and the leadership of the Ministry who is on the visit to the frontline zone as part of Large-Scale Operational-Tactical Exercises have visited the foremost units stationed in various directions of the front.

Minister of Defense Colonel General Zakir Hasanov who leads the operational-tactical exercises, has heard the reports of commanders of the types of troops, commanders of Army Corps and relevant officers on decision-making in regard to the organization of activities during the combined-arms operation and gave relevant instructions on the control of the troops.

According to the approved combat training plan, a seminar was held on the topic “The role of officers on ideological work and moral-psychological support in establishing relationships among military personnel in accordance with the Military Regulations” with the participation of deputy commanders of military units, battalions and companies that are the part of the Army Corps.

The work carried out in support points created in the field conditions as part of large-scale operational-tactical exercises continues.

The ceasefire monitoring exercise on the Azerbaijan and Armenia state border, in the direction of Kazakh region, held in accordance with the mandate of Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office on May 22, ended with no incident.

According to the Joint Action Plan of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Commissioner for Human Rights (OMBUDSMAN), a meeting on the topic “Ombudsman institution and the work carried out by this institution in the field of protecting the rights of servicemen” was held with military personnel in military unit to study the state of the protection of human rights.

Today, the Office of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, in accordance with its mandate, plans to conduct the next ceasefire monitoring exercise on the Azerbaijan and Armenia state border in the direction of Kazakh region.

According to the decision made by the Large-Scale Operational-Tactical Exercises Director, the troops, command and control posts were redeployed to operational areas, main attack force was created and put to the state of readiness to be used in predetermined directions, frontal and army aviation was moved to reserve airfields, rocket and artillery troops have been withdrawn to firing and starting positions.
