Having visited the military unit in the exercise area, the leadership of the Ministry of Defense paid tribute to national leader Heydar Aliyev and laid flowers to his bust, installed in the territory of the military unit.

The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, the leadership of the Ministry, as well as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Azerbaijan Erkan Ozoral and the Military Attaché of Turkey to Azerbaijan, Brigadier General Zafer Ocak took part in the opening ceremony of the "TurAz Qartalı-2017" exercises.

Large-scale military exercises with participation of various military branches of Armed Forces started on September 18 in accordance with the plan approved by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Mr. Ilham Aliyev.

A large group of flight and engineering-technical staff of the Turkish Air Force has arrived in Azerbaijan to participate in the "TurAz Qartalı-2017" joint exercises.
 MiG-29, F-16, Su-25, C-130 Herkules and CASA CN-235 aircrafts, as well as Mi-35, Mi-17 and Sikorsky S-70 helicopters.

In accordance with the annual military cooperation plan between Azerbaijan and Turkey, "TurAz Qartalı-2017" joint flight-tactical exercises will be conducted with the participation of the Air Forces of the two countries.

On 12 September 2017, the Office of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in accordance with its mandate plans to conduct the next ceasefire monitoring exercise on the LOC, near the village Alkhanly (Fuzuli region).

The Staff Talks between the Ministries of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Federal Republic of Germany were held in Berlin on August 30.

On 31 August 2017, the Office of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, in accordance with its mandate, plans to conduct the next ceasefire monitoring exercise on the Azerbaijan and Armenia state border in the direction of Tovuz region.

US European Command Medical Service experts visited Azerbaijan in order to have an expertise exchange and experience sharing with Azerbaijani Military nurses.

Crews of the warships of Azerbaijan, Russia, Iran and Kazakhstan participating in the "Sea Cup - 2017" international contest will enter the sea to fulfill the final episode "Competition in maritime training".

The episode No.5 "Contest on usage of rescue equipment" of the second stage of the "Sea Cup-2017" contest was conducted on August 8.

On 9 August 2017, the Office of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in accordance with its mandate plans to conduct the next ceasefire monitoring exercise on the LOC, near the village Saryjaly (Aghdam region).
