The 1st Deputy of the Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan Republic – Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces Colonel General Najmaddin Sadikov attended the 2nd Chiefs of Defense Conference held at United Nations Headquarters (New York) from 6th to 7th of July 2017.

On 4 July 2017, the Office of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in accordance with its mandate plans to conduct the next ceasefire monitoring exercise on the LOC, near the village Ashagy Veysalli (Fuzuli region).

The Air Defense units’ live-fire tactical and special exercises with began in the military units of the Combined-Arms Army stationed in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

A meeting of representatives of the military intelligence service of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan and Turkey was held in Baku on June 29.

A live-fire stage was conducted in the course of large-scale exercises, started on June 19.

On 23 June 2017, the Office of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in accordance with its mandate plans to conduct the next ceasefire monitoring exercise on the LOC, near the village of Tapqarakoyunlu (Goranboy region).

Minister of Defense Colonel General Zakir Hasanov has heard the reports of commanders of branch of arms, commanders of formations and relevant officers about taking decisions on the organization of activities during the combined arms operation.

In accordance with the large-scale exercises' plan, the troops and command control posts, have previously been put on alert are moved to the operational areas.

The large-scale exercises are started on June 19, in order to inspect combat readiness, organisation of command and control of troops and means, including their interoperability.

A meeting with regular graduates of the High Military School named after Heydar Aliyev took place at the Educational and Training Center of the Armed Forces on June 16.

In accordance with the plan approved by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Mr. Ilham Aliyev, large-scale exercises will be conducted in order to inspect combat readiness, organization of command and control of troops and means, including their interoperability in conditions close to combat. The exercises will launch on June 19.

In accordance with the plan approved by the Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, tactical and special exercises of combat engineer units of the Armed Forces were conducted.

The joint tactical exercises of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan and Turkey, launched on June 12, are continuing.

On 12 June, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov, met with the Commander of Land Forces of Turkey, General of the Army Salih Zeki Cholak, who is paying a visit to our country.

In accordance with the memorandum of understanding signed between the governments of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Turkey, joint tactical exercises involving troops of the armed forces of the two countries began in Nakhchivan on June 12.
