The Air Defense units’ live-fire tactical and special exercises with began in the military units of the Combined-Arms Army stationed in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
The exercises, which also involve anti-aircraft, rocket, artillery and other air defense units, started with the reflecting of the air strikes of the imaginary enemy and with carrying out of combat operations at command points.
The Air Defense units ensuring the protection of motorized rifle units from the air attack during their redeployment, have marched and reached the areas of destination, and took the fire and starting positions.
According to the military decision-making process for conducting military operations, after the units received combat tasks, all the tasks were clarified, the situation was evaluated, and an appropriate decision was made, which was later clarified during organizing interaction on the terrain and on the model board of the area. During the march, the imaginary enemy's attack on the redeploying units was reflected and the security of the convoy's movement to the destination areas was ensured.
At the stage of live-fire, after taking up firing and starting positions, the air and ground targets of the imaginary enemy were destroyed by an anti-aircraft missile system "Strela-3" and 23-mm antiaircraft guns. In order to simulate the enemy, the exercises involved also combat crews of 120-mm mortar complexes.
Live-fire tactical exercises once again confirm that the Air Defense military units of the Combined-Arms Army reliably protect the air borders of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and are constantly ready to repel the enemy’s air attacks.
