The Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, who is on a visit to Georgia, has met with the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of this country, Major General Vladimer Chachibaia on October 16.

In accordance with the Armed Forces preparation plan for 2017, the Rocket and Artillery formations conducted exercises with the purpose of improving the combat skills of military personnel.

The ceasefire monitoring exercise on the Azerbaijan and Armenia state border in the direction of Kazakh region, held in accordance with the mandate of Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office on October 12, ended with no incident.

On 12 October 2017, the Office of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, in accordance with its mandate, plans to conduct the next ceasefire monitoring exercise on the Azerbaijan and Armenia state border in the direction of Kazakh region.

The leadership of the Ministry of Defense has checked the level of readiness of the mobilization resources of the large units and forces foreseen for rapid deployment and use during military operations.
