On May 24, a training course on the subject “Endoscopic surgery of the paranasal sinuses – theory and practice” was held at the Main Clinical Hospital of the Armed Forces.
At the beginning of the event, flowers were laid to the bust of national leader Heydar Aliyev installed in the hospital, and a tribute was paid. After the performing of the National Anthem, the memory of the Great Leader and the Martyrs was honored with observing a minute of silence.
Speaking at the event, the Chief of the Main Clinical Hospital of the Armed Forces, Colonel Tofig Taghiyev, comprehensively informing the course participants about endoscopic nose surgery, explained the main points of surgical methods.
About thirty students were involved in the training course. The medical instructors informed the trainees in detail about the anatomy, physiology, and pathologies of the nose and paranasal sinuses, in which the operation is indicated. They also talked about radio diagnostics.
Listeners of the course via direct video communication watched the operation on a patient with chronic polyposis polysinusitis performed by Lieutenant Colonel of medical service Elnur Akperov, Chief of the Department for Otolaryngology.
At the end of the course, students were awarded certificates.
