According to the plan approved by the Minister of Defense, the Track and Field Athletics, Gymnastics Competitions were held in the Azerbaijan Army.
At the competitions' opening ceremony organized in Azerbaijan Military Academy named after Heydar Aliyev, the memory of the national leader Heydar Aliyev and the Shehids (martyrs) who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our territories was honored with observing a minute of silence. Then, the National Anthem was performed.
Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Sadig Pashayev noted that the leadership of the Defense Ministry pays constant attention to improving the level of physical training of military personnel. He stressed that the competition’s main goal is the further development of track and field athletics in military units and wished the athletes success.
It was noted that military athletes, due to the agility and professionalism they demonstrate in combat training, achieve high results not only in competitions held in the Azerbaijan Army but also in international competitions.
Following the result of the competition, held with the participation of 214 military athletes from 12 teams, the winner teams and athletes were awarded cups, medals, and diplomas.
