The process of providing permanent residence apartments to servicemen (active-duty servicemen, discharged servicemen, or their heirs) who distinguished themselves by impeccable military service for 20 calendar years or more continues to ensure the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On measures to strengthen the social protection of servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan” dated December 28, 2011.
On May 8, the Training and Educational Center of the Azerbaijan Army hosted an event on provision the next permanent apartments to a group of servicemen with impeccable military service.
The event was attended by representatives of relevant institutions of the Defense Ministry, journalists, active-duty servicemen and their family members.
First, the memory of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, and Shehids, who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and independence of Azerbaijan, was honored with observing a minute of silence. The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed.
The speakers noted the positive results of the work done in improvement of social and living conditions of servicemen, thanks to the attention and care of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr. Ilham Aliyev and the First Vice-President, Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva.
It was emphasized that on December 8, 2023, a drawing procedure was held at the Training and Educational Center of the Azerbaijan Army by the “Housing Commission for the provision of permanent residence apartments”, taking into account the numbers of family members, transparency and fairness, as well as the principle of priority. Based on the choice, a total of 473 apartments in Absheron district, Sabunchu and Surakhani districts of Baku were distributed among serving and retired servicemen, as well as heirs of the deceased.
The servicemen expressed gratitude to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr. Ilham Aliyev and the leadership of the Defense Ministry for the attention and care.
