A festive event on the occasion of the 28 May – Republic Day was held in the Naval Forces base.
Speakers told about the history of establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, hard ways of our independence, glorious pages of our national statehood and stressed that according to the orders of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev and President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev, this historical day is celebrated every year by our people.
It was noted that despite its short existence – for 23 months, the Democratic Republic carried out its activities in a tense and complex socio-political situation, and, maintaining the traditions of the statehood of our people, achieved the creation of state institutions inherent in the modern period. It should be pointed out that the modern Republic of Azerbaijan, whose architect is the Great Leader, is the political successor to the Democratic Republic.
The festive event continued with a concert program.
In the end, the guests who took an active part in organizing the event were awarded certificates of honor on behalf of the command staff of the Naval Forces.
