According to the plan approved by the Azerbaijan Defense Minister, remembrance events were held in types of troops, Army Corps, formations, military units, and special educational institutions of the Azerbaijan Army with regard to the 7th anniversary of the April battles.
As part of the remembrance events, military personnel, families and relatives of Shehids, as well as public representatives visited the graves of Shehids (Martyrs), laid wreaths and flowers and honored their memories.
During the ceremonies, the worthy response of the Azerbaijan Army to the provocations committed by the Armenian invaders during the April battles, and the examples of heroism and valor demonstrated by Azerbaijan Army’s military personnel in the battles were mentioned.
It was noted that in the first days of April 2016, as a result of a successful counter-offensive operation conducted by the Azerbaijan Army in response to the next provocations of the Armenians, more than 2,000 hectares of area were liberated and more territories were taken under the control of our Azerbaijan Army Units. At the same time, strategically important heights in the territories of Aghdara, Fuzuli and Jabrayil regions were liberated from occupation.
Thanks to the successful combat operations conducted by the brave Azerbaijan Army under the command of the Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief during the Patriotic War, which became a continuation of the victory of the April battles, the Azerbaijani tricolor flag proudly waves over the liberated territories, Azerbaijan Army took revenage for the blood of the Shehids.
Then, the servicemen visited the families of the April battles’ Shehids, and inquired about their needs.
