On April 1, remembrance ceremonies were held in the Second Alley of Shehids on the occasion of the birthdays of Azerbaijan National Hero Colonel Shukur Hamidov and Lieutenant Colonel Sadi Musayev, who became Shehids in the 44-day Patriotic War.
A group of officers of the Defense Ministry, employees of the Gubadli Region Executive Power, family members, comrades-in-arms, schoolchildren, and other guests attended the ceremonies.
The graves of the Shehids were visited, wreaths and flowers were laid, and tribute was paid to their memory.
The memory of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev and Shehids, who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Azerbaijan, was honored with a minute of silence. The military orchestra performed the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The speakers highlighted the honorable lives and military path of the Shehids, their impeccable service to the Motherland as patriotic officers, and the courage and bravery shown during the Patriotic War.
Family members and relatives of the Shehids expressed gratitude to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and the leadership of the Defense Ministry for the attention and care, as well as for honoring the memory of Shehids.
