In accordance with the training plan for 2023, the next command-staff exercises with formations and units were held in the Combined Arms Army.
During the exercises, formations, units, and subunits were put on alert, brought to different levels of combat readiness, and withdrawn to destination areas. Combating enemy unmanned aerial vehicles, camouflaging, and performing defensive and protective measures were worked out in the assembly areas.
During the exercises, tasks on planning operations by headquarters, decision-making by commanders in difficult conditions during operations, improving the abilities and practical skills of officers in managing subordinate units and maintaining the interoperability between motorized rifle units and units of other types of troops were assigned.
At the next stage of the exercises, an assessment of the situation was carried out in accordance with the occurred tactical conditions, as well as the tasks assigned for subordinate formations, units and subunits were clarified. During the planning, the headquarters prepared tactical calculations and the necessary information. The distribution of orders and graphic documents on the management of units and divisions was practically accomplished by the use of various communications means and automated control systems.
Joint actions of artillery units, anti-tank units, and air defense units with combined arms formations involved in the exercises were worked out. The primary emphasis was given to the uninterrupted management of units in mountainous areas, the organization of interoperability and comprehensive support.
During the exercises, the mechanized units with the support of artillery fire fulfilled tactical tasks on destroying the imaginary enemy’s manpower and military equipment.
At the final stage of the command-staff exercises, the reality of decisions and calculations was assessed by computers in the Simulation Center.
While analyzing the conducted activities, it was noted that interoperability between units and success in the use of weapons, military equipment, modern weapons systems, and technical means were achieved.
