The military pentathlon championship among servicemen is held at the Azerbaijan Military Academy named after Heydar Aliyev and at the base of the training center "Karaheybat".
At the beginning of the championship's opening ceremony that took place at the Azerbaijan Military Academy named after Heydar Aliyev, the memory of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev and our shehids (martyrs) who sacrificed their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of the country was honored with observing a minute of silence, and then the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the officer of the Ministry of Defense Colonel Sadig Pashayev noted that the physical training of military personnel in the army is always in the center of attention of the command staff.
14 teams representing the troops and formations are participating in an individual and team championship. About 80 servicemen compete in competitions in overcoming the obstacle course, shooting, grenade throw, running at 8 km and swimming.
