The subject of the Tactical-Special Exercises carried out in accordance with the Combat Coordination Plan of the Nakhchivan garrison troops for 2021 was to neutralize the imaginary enemy sabotage group in the building where they were hiding and preparing to create panic among the civilian population and commit sabotage.
The military personnel’s practical skills and abilities to conduct combat operations in buildings were inspected during the exercises observed by the Commander of the Combined Arms Army, Colonel General Kеrеm Mustafayev, and representatives of the Turkish Armed Forces.
According to reconnaissance information, the sabotage groups hid in an abandoned building near the human settlements.
In order to prevent the provocative attempts of the imaginary enemy, the Special Forces Groups using helicopters entered the building from different directions where the terrorists were hiding and neutralized the saboteurs using various firearms.
According to the scenario of the exercises during counter-terrorism operations to neutralize the provocative sabotage group of the imaginary enemy, the servicemen of the Special Forces Units performed combat elements in the buildings at close range.
During the exercises, the servicemen wounded during counter-terrorism operations were provided with medical aid and evacuated.
Special Forces Groups prevented the imaginary enemy's sabotage attempt, seized various weapons samples and captured several saboteurs.
Thus, the Special Forces Units, which prevented reconnaissance-sabotage activities, by completely neutralizing the saboteurs achieved the goals set in the exercises.
The award ceremony was held on the occasion of the successful completion of the exercise in which a group of servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Turkey participated as observers and instructors.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Commander of the Combined Arms Army, Colonel General Kerem Mustafayev brought to the attention that the Joint Live-Fire Tactical Exercises conducted in Nakhchivan and the Kars city, Turkey, in accordance with the Agreement on military cooperation signed between Azerbaijan and Turkey are a demonstration of the military power of the two brotherly countries. The slogans of the national leader Heydar Aliyev "One nation, two states" and Mustafa Kemal Ataturk’s “The joy of Azerbaijan is our joy, its sorrow is our sorrow” became an expression of the unity and equality in the conducted exercises and courses aimed at improving the professionalism of the servicemen. Successful completion of the Tactical-Special Exercises of the Special Forces Units of the Combined Arms Army is a clear evidence of the professional use of combat experience, gained during the courses organized in Sparta and Kayseri, Turkey, the Mountain Training Center in Nakhchivan and the 44-day Patriotic War.
At the end, the servicemen were presented with valuable gifts.
