Swimming competition dedicated to the 101st anniversary of the birth of a great historical personality, the National Leader of Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev was held at the Military Institute named named after Heydar Aliyev of the National Defense University.
The tournament opened with commemorating the bright memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and Shehids (Martyrs), who sacrificed their lives for the independence and sovereignty of Azerbaijan and playing the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The cadets of the military institute, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, as well as the students of the Azerbaijan State Marine Academy, the National Aviation Academy, and the Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Education and Sport also participated in the tournament.
During the two-day competition, the participants tested their strength in underwater, freestyle and breaststroke swimming.
According to the results of the competition, the teams of the Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Education and Sport, the Military Institute named after Heydar Aliyev and the Azerbaijan State Marine Academy took the first three places accordingly.
At the end, the winners were awarded.
