Statistics on information shared on the official website and on social media accounts of the Ministry of Defense, and report on the work done in the field of the press in the first half of 2021

A semi-annual report on the statistics of information shared on the official website of the Ministry of Defense and social network accounts, as well as the work done in the field of press from January 1 to June 30, 2021 has been prepared.
The content and design of the official website of the Ministry of Defense www.mod.gov.az continued to operate in 3 languages (Azerbaijani, English and Russian) to implement flexible information broadcasting.
During the reporting period, the Ministry of Defense prepared totally 723 pieces of information. 565 of them were translated into Russian, 550 into English and posted on the official website of the Ministry of Defense, including Facebook, Twitter, Telegram, Instagram and YouTube channels.
372 texts to the videos posted on the Defense Ministry's YouTube channel were translated into Russian, and 369 of them translated were into English.
3,418 photos and 429 videos related to military-patriotic and other events were posted on the official website.
60 inquiries from mass media were responded, the texts of 15 of them were translated into Russian and 7 of them were additionally translated into English. The representatives of TV channels were given 95 permission letters to film in the military units. The participation of news agencies’ representatives in 27 events organized by the Ministry of Defense was provided.
During the reporting period, 14 various media tours were held in order to inform the public and improve the work with the media.
The work on clearance of the territories of liberated Fuzuli and Jabrayil regions from mines and unexploded ordnance conducted by the Engineer Troops was demonstrated to the media representatives. Journalists also observed in the field conditions the activities of the modern engineering equipment recently adopted into armament of the Azerbaijan Army.
Within the framework of the media tour, the journalists also got acquainted with the living conditions created in the modular military units recently commissioned in the Aghdam region. In addition, media representatives took part in the opening ceremony of the Turkish-Russian Joint Monitoring Center located in the territory of the Aghdam region.
Media coverage for the educational process in special educational institutions, the process of preparation of servicemen of active military service, and the regular graduation ceremony, held in the Military Lyceum named after Jamshid Nakhchivanski, was ensured.
In order to provide the media with operational information about tactical exercises conducted in the Naval Forces, the participation of journalists in these exercises was ensured.
Within the reporting period, 8,089 pieces of information were analyzed during the monitoring of local and foreign media, as well as Facebook, Twitter, Telegram, Instagram social networks, and YouTube channels. 3,533 of them are from   Azerbaijani, 2,663 – Armenian, 255 – Russian sites, 33 – other foreign sites, and 1,605 from social networks.
During the monitoring of foreign media, 11 articles of interest were translated from English and prepared for publication, and 4 of them were published in local media. Moreover, 3 interviews with foreign experts were prepared in Russian and published in local media.
In accordance with the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Citizens' Appeals" and the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 950 dated June 23, 2016, 2986 appeals were received by e-mail addresses of the Ministry of Defense pressmd@mod.gov.az and apellyasiya@mod.gov.az, these appeals were directed to the relevant authorities and responded.
During the reporting period, 1,087 pieces of information were shared on the Ministry's Facebook account, 1,087 on Instagram, 1,082 on the Telegram page, and 1,087 tweets were posted on Twitter.
During the first six months of this year, a total of 410 videos were uploaded to the Defense Ministry's YouTube channel.
