Participants of the competition "Caspian Sea Cup - 2016" Azerbaijani, Russian and Kazakh navy sailors first carried out shootings on "air targets" in the Caspian Sea polygons.
According to the scenario, the aircraft of imaginary enemy dropped bombs on the ship, the commander's task is to assess the situation, to destroy air targets while having spent not more than 60 shells. The stage evaluated as follows: the time of entry into the area, the time of the commander's decision making on shooting, accuracy of hitting the target and the total run time of all combat exercises were taken into consideration.
At the second stage the navy sailors were shooting at sea target. As a sea target was a specially equipped ship's shield. They fired from the guns at a distance of about 4500 meters, artillery installations were given 40 ammunitions for defeating the targets. Figures of evaluation are the same as in the first stage.
The crews of small missile ship "Uglich" (Navy of Russia), rocket-artillery ship "Oral" (Navy of Kazakhstan), and patrol-guard ship G-124 (Navy of Azerbaijan) have successfully completed the first two elements of the competition program and started to prepare for the next stages.
At the next stage, the navy sailors will perform artillery firing at a floating mine, ship maneuvering, and standards in the fight for the survival of the ship with the burial of organic holes and pumping seawater, and in the final stage to leave the emergency ship with use of rescue equipment.
