The First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva's initiative to create a blood bank for children suffering from thalassemia, hemophilia, and leukemia during the special quarantine regime applied in our country due to the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic was also joined by departments, organizations and special military-educational institutions of the Ministry of Defense, as well as Army Corps, formations and military units.
All necessary measures were taken in accordance with the requirements of the quarantine regime to ensure the safety of the donors and doctors during the blood donation.
The collected blood supply after verification and certification will be transferred to the Republican Thalassemia Centre (National Haematology and Transfusiology Center) for further use.
