The Republican scientific-practical conference named “Modern military education and prospects for the development of military science”, dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and held at the Military Institute named after Heydar Aliyev of the National Defense University, ended. 
More than 120 professors and teaching staff from the Military Institute, over 30 higher education institutions and relevant organizations of the Republic participated in the conference.
First, the leadership visited the monument to National Leader Heydar Aliyev located in the institute’s area and the Memorial complex erected in memory of Shehids, laid wreaths and flowers.
At the plenary session, the memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the Shehids who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland was honored with a minute of silence. The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed.
Delivering the opening remarks, Rector of the National Defense University, Major General Gunduz Abdulov, welcomed the conference participants and spoke about the measures undertaken by National Leader Heydar Aliyev for the development of military education and military science.
Then a video on “Heydar Aliyev and the formation of the national military education system” was screened.
Professors and teachers from Military Institute named after Heydar Aliyev and other institutions delivered presentations during the panel discussions on “Prospects for the development of education and science in special higher education institutions”. 
Following the scientific discussions, the event concluded with an artistic program.
