Remembrance ceremony was held in the Second Alley of Shehids on the occasion of the birthday of the National Hero of Azerbaijan, the Shehid of the Second Karabakh War, Colonel Shukur Hamidov.
The grave of the Shehid was visited, wreaths and flowers were laid, and prayers were read for his soul at the ceremony attended by representatives of the Defense Ministry and the public, employees of the Gubadli Region Executive Power and the Gubadli Region Cultural House, family members of the National Hero, comrades-in-arms, school children, as well as other guests.
The memory of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev and Shehids, who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and independence of Azerbaijan, was honored with observing a minute of silence. The Military Orchestra performed the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
At the remembrance ceremony, the honorable life path of the Hero, his impeccable service as a patriotic officer in the Azerbaijan Army and the battle path he passed during the April battles and the Patriotic War were spoken.
It was noted that the heroism of Colonel Shukur Hamidov, awarded with various orders and medals during military service, was commended by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Mr. Ilham Aliyev.
The speakers at the ceremony shared their memories about the Shehid and emphasized that the memory of all Shehids will forever be honored.
Family members and relatives of the Shehid expressed gratitude to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and the leadership of the Defense Ministry for the attention and care, as well as for honoring the memory of Shehids.
At the end, the students recited poems dedicated to the Shehids.
