Practical classes are held in the engineering units of the Combined Arms Army.
Engineering units involved in practical classes have been withdrawn to field training centers.
The classes aimed at improving the military personnel's skills in the effective use of modern engineering machinery and equipment adopted into the armament are conducted on the basis of the experience gained in the 44-day Patriotic War.
In the course of the classes, modern antimine protective sapper suits and mine detectors available in the armament, samples of non-explosive antipersonnel, and anti-tank engineering obstacles to be installed on the front line of defense, as well as trenches and shelters for military equipment and vehicles were demonstrated. Characteristics and the principle of operation of "Pomnis-2" special equipment, designed to clear passages in minefields, the rules for conducting engineering reconnaissance of enemy from engineering observation posts were delivered to the military personnel.
The road-engineering units ensured the passage of vehicles through natural and artificial obstacles, and the military personnel worked out the use of explosive devices and means.
