“Power of Unity – 2026” exercise held Distinguished Visitors Day - VIDEO

Distinguished Visitors Day was held as part of “Power of Unity – 2026” joint military exercise, hosted by Azerbaijan with the participation of servicemen from Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and Türkiye. 
The event, held in the Azerbaijan Army’s Gizilgaya Training Center in the Garabagh economic region, was attended by the Ministers of Defense, Chiefs of General Staff of the participating and observer countries and other high-ranking guests.
The Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov welcomed the participants and briefed them on the progress of the exercise, its objectives, and the sequence of accomplished tasks.
Addressing the event, Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Türkiye, Mr. Yaşar Güler, and Minister of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Lieutenant General Shukhrat Khalmukhamedov highlighted the significance of such exercises in strengthening friendship and brotherhood among the countries, establishing unified force, and wished the servicemen success in their future service.
Pursuant to the exercise plan, servicemen from the participating countries carried out practical tasks based on various combat scenarios, and a range of tactical episodes.
At the training area, activities included the deployment of personnel to the area of operations using armoured vehicles, combat operations in residential areas, breaching passages through minefields, raids on the positions of simulated terrorists, clearing and capturing designated objectives from a simulated enemy, and engaging armoured vehicles using anti-tank weapons.

The tasks were carried out in conditions of coordinated interaction and interoperability, with fire support from combat helicopters, armoured vehicles, and artillery systems.
In addition, the exercise featured activities to counter an aerial UAV attack on a vessel, liberate an offshore platform, a vessel, and hostages seized by terrorists, as well as destroy a terrorist base through a maritime landing on an island.
Furthermore, the tasks conducted in the Garabaghlar Training Center in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Garaheybat Training Center in Baku, and Boyuk Zira Training Area in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea were monitored online.
The exercise from September 21 to October 1, aimed to enhance cooperation among the armed forces of the participating countries, improve the practical skills of personnel, facilitate the exchange of expertise, and strengthen friendly ties.
The observers positively assessed the level of professionalism demonstrated by the participants of the exercise.
The event concluded with the presentation of gifts to the participants, and medals being awarded to a group of servicemen who distinguished themselves during the exercise.
It is worth mentioning that, representatives of local and international media also attended Distinguished Visitors Day.
