Opening ceremony was held at the Foreign Language Centre of the Institute of Military Management under the National Defense University (NDU), to mark the commencement of English language course conducted with the participation of instructors from the United States Defense Language Institute (DLI). 
The event was attended by the institute’s leadership, the academic and teaching staff of the Foreign Language Centre, and military personnel participating in the course.
The event commenced with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The speakers noted that, in the modern era, foreign language proficiency is one of the key areas of professional training for military personnel and expressed their best wishes for the successful completion of the course.
It was stated that during the four-month course, instructors from the U.S. Defense Language Institute will conduct relevant classes focused on advancement of the participants’ foreign language knowledge and skills and improving their listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills. Afterwards, the participants were provided with detailed information on the organization of the course and the education process. 
At the end of the event, commemorative photos were taken.
