On May 10, an event in connection with the 94th anniversary of the birth of the national leader Heydar Aliyev was held at the Main Department for Personal of the Ministry of Defense.
At first, the participants of the event honored the memory of the National Leader and martyrs who gave their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan with observing a minute of silence.
Deputy Minister of Defence for Personnel - Head of the Main Department for Personnel Lieutenant-General Kerim Veliyev spoke about the outstanding merits of the great leader Heydar Aliyev in the history of our people and state. Lieutenant-General K.Veliyev once again stressed that the President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Mr. Ilham Aliyev is successfully continuing political course of his father today.
Nowadays, there are thousands of officers in the Armed Forces who have been the cadets of the current Military Lyceum named after Jamshid Nakhchivansky founded by Heydar Aliyev. These officers faithfully serve the Motherland and the state today, and honorably fulfill their duty to the Motherland.
Then, as part of the program of improving the social protection of families of shehids (martyrs) and wounded military servicemen, the families of Major Agshin Abdullayev and Ghizir (ensign) Sanan Isayev, who became martyrs as a result of suppressing enemy provocations, as well as retired military servicemen Natig Mehdiyev and Ulfat Hasanov were given warrants for new apartments.
The shehid families and the retired military servicemen, who were provided with apartments on the birthday of the national leader, expressed their gratitude to the President of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev and the leadership of the Ministry of Defence for the attention paid to them.
