NATO Defense College Senior Course’s attendees visit Azerbaijan

Commandant of the NATO Defense College (NDC), Lieutenant General Max A.L.T. Nielsen and the NDC Senior Course’s attendees visited ADA University and Baku International Sea Trade Port CJSC as part of Field Studies.
The event at ADA University began with an opening speech delivered by Vice Rector, Milli Majlis member, Fariz Ismayilzade.
Then, the Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, Mr. Hikmat Hajiyev, who was invited as an honorary guest, welcomed the guests and expressed satisfaction with seeing them in Azerbaijan. Mr. Hikmet Hajiyev spoke on the topics of “Azerbaijan's foreign policy”, “Regional security and new challenges”, and answered the questions of the guests.
At the event, the Head of the American Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ph.D. in Political Sciences, Esmira Jafarova delivered a presentation on the topic “Energy policy of Azerbaijan” and informed the guests about the regional and economic projects involving Azerbaijan.
The representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel Ramil Shukurov, spoke about the work done in Azerbaijan in the army development field, and made a presentation on the topics “Azerbaijan-NATO cooperation” and “Defense Strategy”.
The questions of the listeners of the NDC Senior Course were answered.
The event was also attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic to Azerbaijan Milan Lajcak, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to Azerbaijan Edgars Skuja, representatives of the Ministry of Defense and ADA University.
Then the NATO delegation visited Baku International Sea Trade Port CJSC.
At the meeting, the guests were provided with detailed information about the Baku Port’s history, areas of activity, strategic importance, international relations and plans for further development. The port's successes in cargo transportation, logistics services, environmental protection and digital transformation were highlighted.
The guests got acquainted with the modern infrastructure and facilities in the port’s territory and expressed satisfaction with the information received about the development of the port and its prospects for the future.
