Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, who is visiting Tashkent to attend the regular meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States, has met with the Minister of Defense of Uzbekistan Major General Abdusalom Azizov.
The Minister of Defense of Uzbekistan expressed interest in deepening cooperation between the Ministries of Defense of the two countries.
During the meeting, the sides discussed a number of issues in connection with the current state and prospects for the development of joint cooperation in the defense sphere and in the field of military education, and also held a wide exchange of views on strengthening mutually beneficial relations in the sphere of military-technical cooperation.
It was stressed that Uzbekistan is planning joint events with Azerbaijan to exchange experience in the field of military education. During the talks, an agreement was reached on the participation of Uzbekistan’s military specialists as observers in international exercises held in Azerbaijan.
At the end of the meeting, the Ministries of Defense of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have signed the Plan of Bilateral Military Cooperation for 2019.
