Defence Minister, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov and command staff of the Ministry visited the military units along the front line.
During the meeting with the combat personnel being on duty face to face with the enemy in the trenches on recently freed from occupation territories, Defence Minister got acquainted with the defence sustainability, preparation and improvement of engineering-sapper installations, combat readiness, morale and social conditions of servicemen.
Minister of Defence, visited the units, located on the line of contact with the hostile forces, has observed the enemy. Minister was briefed on the operational situation in the territory and about the work done on the line of defence.
For bravery shown during the operation to free the height Lele Tepe, with Order of Minister of Defence the early military rank of colonel was presented to Lieutenant-Colonel Shukyur Hamidov, who has been awarded with the decree of the Commander in Chief of Armed Forces with title of National Hero of Azerbaijan.
After meeting with servicemen who distinguished themselves during the April fighting, Defence Minister presented them valuable gifts and talked with them at the tea party.
The combat personnel being on duty emphasized about its faithful service for the homeland, for the people, for the state and of its readiness at any moment to fight for ensuring country's territorial integrity, liberation of the occupied lands by the order of Commander in Chief.
