Commemorative ceremony was held to mark the anniversary of the heroic martyrdom of the military pilots Major Urfan Valizada, Major Tabriz Musazada, and First Lieutenant Abu Bakr Ismayilov, who are the Martyrs of the April battles of 2016. 
The event took place at the Military Memorial Cemetery and was attended by the Deputy Minister of Defense – Commander of the Air Force, Lieutenant General Namig Islamzade, officials of the Ministry of Defense, representatives of the public, as well as family members and relatives of the Martyrs.
The ceremony commenced with a visit to the graves of the Martyrs, where wreaths and flowers were laid. A minute of silence was observed in honor of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani nation Heydar Aliyev, and all Martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland.
Speakers at the event highlighted the distinguished service, patriotism, and professionalism of the fallen pilots.
It was noted that, owing to the courage and heroism demonstrated by the servicemen on the battlefield during military operations, Azerbaijani territories were liberated from occupation, and today the Azerbaijani tricolor flag proudly flies over those territories. The memory of those who sacrificed their lives for the independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty of the Motherland will forever live in the hearts of Azerbaijani nation.
As part of the event, Lieutenant General Namig Islamzade met with the families of the Martyrs and inquired about their well-being.
During the meeting, family members and relatives of the heroes expressed their deep gratitude for the attention and care shown to them, addressing their appreciation to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ilham Aliyev, First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva, and the leadership of the Ministry of Defense.
