On January 22, a memorial event organized by the Azerbaijan Ministry of Defense, was held to mark the 116th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding military commander, twice Hero of the Soviet Union, Tank Troops Guards Major General Hazi Aslanov.
Grave and memorial complex of Major General Hazi Aslanov at the Alley of Martyrs was visited, and wreaths were laid.
Memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the distinguished military figure Hazi Aslanov, and Martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland, was honored with a minute of silence at the event, attended by servicemen of the Ministry of Defense, members of veteran organizations, representatives of the institution bearing the Hero’s name, and family members.
The event discussed glorious combat path, the bravery and heroism of Hazi Aslanov during the Second World War. It was noted that the Major General, distinguished by his high command skills, became a source of pride for Azerbaijani nation and holds a significant place in the nation’s military history.
It was stressed that studying the combat path of Heroes of the Azerbaijani nation such as Hazi Aslanov plays a vital role in fostering patriotism among the younger generation and strengthening their commitment to national and moral values.
The family members of Major General Hazi Aslanov expressed their deep gratitude to the head of state and leadership of the Ministry of Defense the attention shown and organizing the event.
