According to the plan approved by the Minister of Defense, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov, combat readiness exercises held with Engineer troops of the Armed Forces.
The main purpose of the exercise was to check the ability of commanders in connection with the performance of the tasks of engineering support for combat operations in difficult operating conditions and control units in practice, improvement of skills to bring the headquarters on state of alert, making of a reasonable decision in accordance with the current situation, assess the situation. Improving morale and psychological stability of personnel of the units in the performance of tasks as part of engineer support has also become one of the main goals.
According to the plan, at first the military unit was brought into a state of alert, and then the task of engineering support was carried out.
Units were involved in practical actions for their intended purpose, personnel was informed of the special equipment, modern technology and facilities, recently taken into service engineering troops. An armored vehicle-launched bridge, obstacle clearing engineer vehicle, non-explosive obstacles and new types of combat engineer ammunition were demonstrated. Engineering and engineering pontoon and mechanized units have also fulfilled practical training for the passage of water obstacles by pontoon bridge, the opening passages in mined areas in different ways and the elimination of barbed wire. Units' activity was highly appreciated. The exercises were successful, distinguished servicemen were awarded.
