On August 4, Defense Minister, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov met with military attachés and military representatives of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan accredited in foreign countries and international organizations.
First, participants of the event paid tribute and laid flowers at the bust of the national leader of Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, in the building of the International Military Cooperation Department.
Then Defence Minister made a speech at the meeting.
The Minister spoke about the significance of reforms held in the army in all directions as a result of high attention and care of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Mr. Ilham Aliyev.
Speaking about the latest situation on the frontline, Defence Minister stressed the importance of improving the organizational structure, equipping the army with modern weapons and ammunition, armored vehicles and military means, putting into operation of new military grounds in order to improve the combat skills of the military personnel and conducting exercises with the involvement of various types of troops.
Minister noted that new military camps, service and permanent apartments are put into the use of servicemen to improve their social and living conditions and informed the military attaches about the work and other activities that will be conducted in this sphere.
At the end of the speech regarding to service activity, including international military priorities, Colonel General Z.Gasanov defined the goals and tasks of the military personnel, set concrete tasks and gave recommendations.
