The representatives of the Central Army Sports Club (CSKA) are among the Azerbaijani delegation at the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games being held in the city of Konya, Republic of Türkiye.
In the competitions, the representatives of CSKA brought 3 medals to Azerbaijan's score in the Islamiad: 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze.
Captain Rafig Huseynov, competing in the weight category 82 kg in Greco-Roman wrestling competitions, won one of those medals. Having defeated all rivals in a stubborn struggle, he took to the highest step of the podium.
Taekwondo athlete Minaya Akbarova, competing in the weight category of 46 kg, was awarded a silver medal losing the decisive match to her rival from Morocco.
Another Azerbaijani representative, Nazila Ismayilova, competed in the weight category of 45 kg. In the sum of two lifts, she showed a result of 121 kg, lifting 54 kg in snatch and 67 kg in in a push. The athlete took 3rd place in both lifts separately and in their sum.
It should be noted that the coaches of Azerbaijani athletes who won medals at the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games CSKA representatives - senior lieutenant Hasan Aliyev, Mammad Abdullayev and Emil Aliyev.
