Congratulations on the 100th anniversary of Victory Day of fraternal Türkiye!

On August 30 of this year, with a sense of boundless pride, the fraternal peoples of Türkiye and Azerbaijan will solemnly celebrate the 100th anniversary of Türkiye's Victory Day in the Independence War, which is the embodiment of its glorious victory, won as a result of perseverance, determination, firmness, courage, bravery, heroism and love for the Motherland.
Turkish-Azerbaijani relations, further strengthened after the declaration of independence of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic on May 28, 1918, are developing in an ascending line based on the philosophy of the great leader Mustafa Kemal Ataturk “The joy of Azerbaijan is our joy, the sorrow of Azerbaijan is our sorrow” and national leader Heydar Aliyev “One nation, two states” in all spheres, including defense area.
It is an indisputable fact that the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and the President of the Republic of Türkiye Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, play an exceptional role in achieving the current level of relations between the two fraternal countries.
Strengthening and further expansion of relations with Türkiye, a reliable ally of Azerbaijan, is an integral part of the foreign policy of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Historical, religious, and cultural ties between the countries create new opportunities for the development of existing cooperation in the military sphere. Strengthening military cooperation, at the same time, strengthens the brotherhood between the peoples. In order to further strengthen multilateral ties based on mutual trust and brotherhood, the countries closely cooperate for the benefit of both countries and the region within the framework of all international organizations. Further continuing and passing on our relationships to future generations is crucial.
The Patriotic War further strengthened Azerbaijani-Turkish ties. Azerbaijani and Turkish soldiers marched shoulder to shoulder on Azadlig Square at the Victory Parade on December 10, 2020. The Azerbaijani people flocked through the streets and greeted the Azerbaijani and Turkish soldiers with a feeling of great joy. Flags of Azerbaijan and Türkiye were raised in all the Azerbaijani cities on this historic day.
Currently, Azerbaijani-Turkish relations are based on allied relations in accordance with the Shusha Declaration, and as an integral part of it, consistent measures are being taken in the field of military development. Mutual military cooperation between the countries further strengthens our unity. Azerbaijani-Turkish fraternal relations contribute to the maintenance of peace and stability in the region.
The indestructible relations of friendship and brotherhood between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, which have common roots, language, religion, and culture, have existed and will continue to exist throughout history.
These relations will develop and strengthen, and our countries will gain even greater victories.
On August 30, 1922, the glorious Turkish Army, that rose to the national liberation struggle,  under the command of the great commander and prominent state figure Mustafa Kemal Ataturk won a victory that decided the fate of the Salvation War and Türkiye. The date of August 30, engraved in the memory of the Turkish people as the “Independence Day of the Nation”, is a source of pride for every Turk.
The invincibility of the Turkish soldier in the battles for independence and the courage of the Turkish people were also recognized by enemies. The bravery shown by the Turkish nation during the Independence War is inscribed in golden letters in Turkish history and has created legends. The image created by the heroes of this war, their dreams of freedom and statehood, as well as one nation, two states have become a reality on the example of Azerbaijan and Türkiye.
The leadership and military personnel of the Azerbaijan Army congratulate the leadership and military personnel of the Turkish Armed Forces on the 100th anniversary of Victory Day and pay tribute to the blessed memory of Shehids, who inscribed their names in history in golden letters for statehood and independence.
