A serviceman successfully underwent a complex open-heart surgery at the Main Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Defense.
Examinations conducted on the serviceman following complaints of shortness of breath and chest pain revealed severe aortic valve insufficiency and an aneurysm accompanied by dilation of the aortic root and ascending aorta.
The patient underwent Bentall surgery. During the surgery, the aortic valve was replaced with a prosthetic valve, the aortic root and ascending aorta were replaced with a vascular graft, and the coronary arteries were connected to the new graft.
The serviceman’s condition is currently satisfactory. He is feeling well and continues his recovery under medical supervision.
