2024 training year’s first bilateral command-staff exercise was held with relevant combined-arms formations of the Combined Arms Army.
The first stage of the command-staff exercise began with withdrawing alerted units, involved in practical activities, at various times to training areas.
For manning troops with mobilization reserves, reception points for personnel and equipment were deployed, and practical recruitment of reverse personnel with special specialties was carried out. After carrying out the appropriate registration at the points, the personnel underwent a medical examination, as well as were provided with weapons and other necessary types of support.
The main objective of the exercise was to covertly and promptly bring combined-arms units, as well as subordinate and support units, to a state of increased combat readiness of various decrees under the strong influence of enemy radio-electronic means, to suppress the enemy’s sabotage activities, and sudden actions, as well as offensives by inflicting preventive strikes.
In stationary and field control points, the exercise’s leadership evaluated the activities of the headquarters by making various interventions and provided assistance in the consistency and accuracy of reports, as well as their reflection on real conditions.
The mechanized units, tank units, artillery units, air defense units, Air Force’s units and special forces units involved in the exercise successfully fulfilled the tasks assigned to combined-arms units.
During the exercise, visual surveillance was carried out by special forces units, the imaginary enemy’s combat positions and important facilities at close depth were evaluated. Following the assigned combat task, the special forces carried out assaults on combat positions and a command-control point stationed on the frontline of the imaginary enemy’s defense.
After capturing positions and key facilities, the special forces units ambushed and destroyed the imaginary enemies’ reserves on their approaches.
After the decisions of commanders and headquarters made regarding occurred situation were heard the bilateral exercise started in an online format in the Simulation Center of Combined Arms Army’s Training and Educational Center.
In the end, activities carried out by the relevant units involved in the exercise were analyzed, shortcomings were identified, appropriate instructions were given to solve existing problems and apply the gained experience at the next exercises.
