On September 14, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan Colonel General Zakir Hasanov met with a delegation led by the rector of the National Defense University of the Republic of Türkiye, Professor Erhan Afyoncu.
After greeting the guests, the Minister of Defense informed about the large-scale provocation committed by units of the Armenian armed forces in the Dashkasan, Kalbajar and Lachin directions of the Azerbaijani-Armenian state border.
At the meeting, the sides stressed the importance of further development of joint cooperation in the field of military education and in other areas within the framework of military alliance with Türkiye, as well as the importance of exchanging experience with the Turkish National Defense University.
In his turn, Professor E. Afyoncu, expressing condolences regarding servicemen, who became Shehids (Martyrs) as a result of the large-scale provocation, noted the positive impact of mutual exchange of experience in the field of military education on improving the knowledge and skills of servicemen and stressed that the work in this area will continue in the future.
Then E. Afyoncu presented Colonel General Z. Hasanov with his book “History of the Turks”, which is about Turkish history that covers a thousand years and is spread to different geographical areas.
During the meeting, an exchange of views on military education and other issues of mutual interest was held.
In the end, the sides exchanged gifts.
