A series of events dedicated to 8 March - International Women's Day were held with the participation of female servicemen, civilian workers serving in the Azerbaijan Army and families of Shehids.
At the beginning of the events, the memory of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev and Shehids (Martyrs) who sacrificed their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of the Motherland was honored with observing a minute of silence. The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed.
The congratulations of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov were delivered to the participants of the events.
The speakers emphasized that the Azerbaijani woman, who exalts the honor of the holy Mother and is well-known for struggles throughout history, has made a great contribution to upbringing the younger generation in the spirit of love for the Motherland and the state, as well as devotion to independent statehood and the ideology of Azerbaijanism.
It was noted that the Azerbaijani woman takes an active part in a large number of major projects that are successfully implemented under the leadership of the First Lady of Azerbaijan, First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban khanum Aliyeva and are aimed at preserving our national-spiritual values, traditions and the development of the idea of humanism.
It was noted that the work of female servicemen and civilian workers serving in the Azerbaijan Army’s types of troops, special educational and military medical institutions, as well as other fields, is always commended.
At the end of the events, the participants were presented with flowers and holiday gifts.
As part of the events, concert programs with the participation of the teams of the Separate Exemplary Orchestra of the Ministry of Defense, the Army Ideological and Cultural Center named after Hazi Aslanov, and the Ganja Garrison Ideological and Cultural Center, as well as regional cultural departments were presented.
