Several events on the occasion of October 18 – Restoration of Independence Day were held in the Army Corps, formations and military units, as well as special educational institutions of the Azerbaijan Army.
During the events, the memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, and Shehids (Martyrs), who sacrificed their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, was honored with observing a minute of silence. The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed.
The speakers highlighted the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev’s exceptional merits in the fate of the Azerbaijani people, in the establishment and development of the modern Azerbaijani state, and emphasized the achievements gained in the socio-political, economic, and social life of the country, as well as in the army development during the leadership of the National Leader. It was stressed that Azerbaijan is steadily developing due to the successful continuation of the National Leader’s wise policy by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr. Ilham Aliyev.
According to the plan, various historical museums were also visited as part of the events.
