A series of festive events dedicated to 8 March - International Women's Day were held with the participation of female servicemen, civilian workers serving in the Azerbaijani Army and families of Shehids (Martyrs).
At the beginning of the events, the memory of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev and Shehids (Martyrs) who sacrificed their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of the Motherland was honored with observing a minute of silence. The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed.
Then the congratulations of the Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov on the occasion of the holiday was delivered to the participants of the events.
Speakers noted that the work of female servicemen in all types of troops of the Azerbaijan Army, special educational and military medical institutions, and other fields, as well as women working in civilian affairs is always highly appreciated. Speakers wished them success in their future services, as well as in their personal lives.
Concert programs with the participation of the Army Ideological and Cultural Center named after Hazi Aslanov, the Ideological and Cultural Center of the Ganja Garrison, as well as well-known representatives of culture and art, teams of regional cultural departments were presented at the events.
